Before you arrange an appointment with me, you will need a doctor’s referral. If you are covered by Medicare, this is important because without a referral you will not be able to claim the Medicare rebate. GP referrals are valid for 12 months, and referrals from specialists are valid for three months.
A referral from your GP is not mandatory to make an appointment with Dr Parmar but will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate for your consultation. GP referrals are typically valid for 12 months while referrals from another medical specialist are valid for three months.
When you ask for a referral, you can also have your GP arrange pre-pregnancy testing for you and your partner. These are required for anyone seeking fertility treatment and there are tests for women and men. Please ask your GP to include the results of these along with your referral.
Pregnant women also need to have regular check-ups, so if you are young and have not visited a GP regularly in the past, now is a good time to find a doctor you trust and feel comfortable with.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide advance notice of at least 24 hours as failure to do so may incur a cancellation fee.

Please note that this is a non-bulk billing private practice, and payment is required on the day of your consultation. VISA, Mastercard, EGT, AMEX, and cheques are accepted; cash is not accepted. Please contact your private health provider directly to find out whether your health insurance cover contributes to any out-of-pocket expenses.
Quotes provided for surgical procedures are specific to Dr Parmar’s role. There may be additional fees for a surgical assistant if required, anaesthetist, and pathologist.
