Dr Chandrika Parmar is an esteemed fertility specialist and gynaecologist with over two decades of clinical and surgical practice. Uniquely qualified across two major healthcare systems, she brings an exceptionally deep foundation of hands-on surgical experience and clinical case depth to her role as Chair of the Clinical Board at Genea Melbourne City.
Her clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of reproductive care from IVF and recurrent cycle failures to advanced pelvic microsurgery, preimplantation genetics, and complex donor pathways. Known for her warmth and patient-first philosophy, Dr Parmar is dedicated to translating world-leading embryological science into clear, reassuring, and highly individualised treatment pathways.
Chandrika completed her foundational medical degree (MBBS) and undertook extensive postgraduate specialist residency and registrar training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India, where she was awarded her first post-graduate specialist qualification, a Master of Surgery (MS) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Upon relocating to Australia, she completed her formal Australian fellowship training (FRANZCOG) after undertaking the full, rigorous specialist requalification process in Obstetrics and Gynaecology over six years. She then completed specialised fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology at Mercy Hospital for Women and The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. She also holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
This dual-system specialist pathway provides her with an exceptionally robust clinical background. Over her career, she spent close to 16 years in Reproductive Endocrinology at The Royal Women’s Hospital caring for public hospital patients and more than 20 years as a gynaecologist and fertility specialist in private practice in Melbourne.
She brings high-level clinical leadership and surgical oversight before taking on her current roles with Genea as Director and senior fertility specialist at Genea Melbourne City.
She performs reproductive endoscopic surgery at Epworth Freemasons Private Hospital in East Melbourne, providing seamless continuity of care for patients who require a surgical component to resolve anatomical fertility barriers.
